When a film tries this hard to tell an original, complex story and to be thoughtful and artistically daring, it's something that should be applauded. I was perhaps more lenient than usual if only out of respect for the decision not to turn the last third into a vampire movie or involve an elaborate back-story that suddenly took the characters 3,000 years into the past.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07403086815351841247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7789455610122771882.post-66647546831065160312013-04-23T12:34:19.706-07:002013-04-23T12:34:19.706-07:00I totally agree with you. Us and half the audience quite frankly laughed through the last third of the film. Honestly, I think you were being very generous in your description of the performances of the young men in the last part. For me that's when a lot of it fell apart. To be fair though, it wasn't just their performances, I think the writing kind of fell apart then too. I still really appreciated the movie but the last half hour to forty- five minutes was when I began to have trouble suspending my disbelief. Compared to how strong the first two parts were the end was a let down.hotchoqlithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07235072397212404640noreply@blogger.com
